Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and process your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The responsible party is Muvhuyu (Pty) Ltd, trading as ToyJoy.
What we collect
When you order, we collect your name, email address, phone number and delivery address. If you contact us, we keep your message and contact details. Payments are handled by PayFast: we don't receive or store your card details.
When you type your email address at checkout, we create a ToyJoy account for it and save your cart and the details you typed, even if you don't finish your order. That lets you sign in to your dashboard (with a code we email you) to see and track your orders, and fills in checkout for you next time.
Children
Our shop is for adults buying for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
How we use it
- To process, deliver and support your order (including sharing your name, phone number and address with our courier).
- To send you order confirmations and delivery updates.
- If you leave checkout without paying, to send you up to four reminders about the toys in your cart (30 minutes later, the next morning, three days later and after 30 days). Every reminder has a link to stop them, and you can switch them off in your dashboard. They stop as soon as you order.
- To answer your questions.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
We don't sell your information. We only send marketing emails if you've agreed to receive them.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the shop: PayFast (payments), our courier (delivery), and our hosting and email providers. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as South African tax law requires (currently five years), then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information by emailing info@toyjoy.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser's storage to remember your cart and the details you type at checkout, so they're still there if you come back. Store admins also get a sign-in cookie. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count visits and see which pages people use, so we can improve the shop. It doesn't tell us who you are, and we don't use advertising trackers. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or with Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
